Samar Emami works for USG (United State Gypsum), where she helps their business units institutionalize a disciplined process to accelerate time-to-market of their innovative de-risked products and systems and to accelerate time to peak sales to deliver on business goals. 

Doing her PhD under Dr. Sohn's supervision taught her ways to have a systematic approach to different problems (not solely metallurgical ones). It changed her mindset and armed her with analytical and critical thinking, which has made her successful not only in the related fields of research during her first job as a Senior Scientist, but also in her current role as a Commercialization Manager at USG.
